The museum was built in 1962 and contains funerary stelae and other finds, mainly from the cemeteries of ancient Thyrreion and Anaktorion and various finds from the region of modern Vonitsa.

The most important items of the exhibition are:

Marble funerary relief showing a seated figure. Attic product, dated to the second half of the 4th century B.C.

Upper part of an inscribed stele. The inscription records the alliance between the Thyrreians and the Romans in 94 B.C.
