Museum of Marble Crafts, external view
The Museum of Marble Crafts at Pyrgos on Tinos was created by the Piraeus Bank Group Cultural Foundation (PIOP), which is responsible for its operation. It belongs to the Foundation’s Network of Thematic Museums and is the first of its kind in Greece. Housed in modern, fully equipped premises, in harmony with the distinctive Tinian landscape, the Museum includes a Multi-purpose Hall and is situated on land granted to the Foundation by the (former) Community of Panormos. The project was funded by the Third Community Support Framework, after it was incorporated in the Regional Operational Programme for the South Aegean 2000-2006, and by the Piraeus Bank.
