The Archaeological Collection of Distomo was established in 1994 by the Ephor of Antiquities Evangelos Pentazos. The building of the old primary school, where the collection is housed, was inaugu¬rated in 1901 by Joasaph Kastritis, Hegoumenos of the monastery of Hosios Loukas, and in 1987 it was handed over to the Hellenic Ministry of Culture by the Municipality of Distomo in order to bring together and shelter the finds which the excavations per¬formed in ancient eastern Phocis unearthed.

The exhibition is arranged in three galleries and consists of archaeological finds that date from the Bronze Age through to the Early Byzantine period.
