This two-storied impressive neoclassical building of the early 20th century dominates the center-most spot of the city. The building has a strict symmetry at the openings of its facets.

It was initially built to house the City Hall?s offices. Today, the first floor hosts the Prefect?s office and the offices of the Local Administration, while the ground-floor houses the Public Fund of the Mytilene Prefecture.
