Remains of the chruch
The monument is located approximately 150m. to the north of the church of the Dormition of the Virgin (or Saviour's Transfiguration) and is badly preserved. It was a single-nave, barrel-vaulted basilica with a semicircular bema apse (still preserved at sufficient height) and the main entrance to its south wall. In the interior of the church, two vaulted underground compartments of unknown use were discovered. Characteristic of the church is the formation of blind arches on the exterior and interior walls, an element originating from the architecture of Constantinople. The monument's erection is generally dated to the Late Byzantine period, but it has not been fully studied yet.
