Tower built on an islet near Stegna in the Archangelos area. Of square plan, it shelters within a cruciform chapel. The edifice probably functioned as a defended signal post. Documents referring to it from the mid-15th century onwards survive in the Hospitaller Archives kept in Malta. According to G. Bosio, 16th c. historian of the Order, the tower was destroyed in 1521, and an attempt to reinforce its defence with a cannon was made immediately afterwards. The site continued in use for part of the Ottoman period, a fact attested by pottery finds.
