The building was constructed in 1905 to host the "Greek-French Practical and Commercial School Stefanos Noukas". It constitued the commercial school of the Christian community of the city with emphasis on the French language and the commercial character of the studies. Later on, Gregorios Maraslis became also one of its benefactors, so the school was named after him "Maraslio". In 1933 it was converted to the 2nd Girl's High School, while from 1980 till today it hosts the 19th High School of Thessaloniki.
