The building was constructed in 1928, by the architect Jacques Mosse, to host the private Jewish school, known as School Leon Gatenio. It included a kindergarten class, an elementary school and a Merchant School. After the Occupation and the decimation of the Jewish community it hosts a public elementary school, the 7th Elementary School of Thessaloniki.
