INFORMATION

Mikro Chorio is an settlement on the island of Tilos abandoned after World war II. The settlement spread on the slope of a hill crowned by a defensive enclosure whose best preserved part is a round tower overlooking the deserted settlement. The age of the settlement is hard to determine. However, its churches, most of them with interiors decorated with murals, indicate that it was already there in the 14th century: the murals of St. Mary Elesa at Arnos and St. John oat Avalas date from the 14th century and the Saviour is slightly later (15th c.)
