The Museum's aim is to develop its educational character, that is to make the subject more widely known to the general public and to inform the younger generation about the various phases and historical development of this art of the Greek traditional and folk theatre.

Some of the most important exhibits of the museum are:

- The classical figure of Karaghiozis, drawn by Eugene Spatharis. The first coloured figure was created in 1920.

- Black and white figures of the traditional Shadow Theatre of the period 1900-1930.

- Coloured shadow theatre figures of various types.

- Some of the exhibits of the Museum: a) the Odyssey, b) Perseus and Andromeda, c) Heracles, d) Daedalus and Icarus and e) Theseus and the Minotaur.
