The Museum was founded in 1965 by Eugene Spatharis and includes his own and his father's collections, dating from 1947. There are also Greek and foreign-language books on the shadow theatre, and the puppet theatre, as well as posters, programmes, press cuttings. The Meseum will house a retrospective exhibition of figures and accessories of the Greek shadow theatre from 1860 to the present.
