An underwater rescue excavation was conducted in the harbor of Parikia of the island of Paros during the year 2000. The excavation area is located between the located between the central mole and the mole of ‘Vitzi’. The particular area is called Agios Nikolaos.

The results of the former harbor project of 1979 conducted by the archaeologist E. Chatzidaki and by the architect N. Lianos, were published in 1981 and 1995 including also the archaeologist D. Chaniotis.
