This small perforated axe is a typical example of stone tools dating from the Neolithic period. These types of tools are usually preserved in a good condition and in large quantities. The particular axe is preserved intact. The entire surface is smooth apart from a few flakes on the edge. The axe is square with rounded edges, and a perforation where the wooden handle was inserted. Perforated axes, much like other stone tools, were quite common during the Neolithic era and offer much information about the progress, the economy and the various activities performed by the people of that time.
